Once upon a day

I was gone a fortnight and came home from work (actually I work from home..but...)  and saw that the front door was unlocked and slightly open. I wondered... what the hell...did someone break in... is someone here?

Living in a cabin in the woods (in reality a house on Hwy 95... but go with it...)  you never know what kind of creature may stop by looking to find refuge and shelter.  I tentatively walk through the door, looking around.  I look for snowy footprints, but see none.  I walk around the corner and look in the kitchen... no ramsacking going on here.  Perhaps it was Old Mr. Winter blowing over the threshold just to take a peak around?  I decide to walk down the hall to check out the rest of the house.   ... I open the bedroom door to see what I can see....

OMG!  And there it is!  Little miss wolf, came in from the wild  - happened upon a nice warm cabin after a day of running in the snowy woods.
"Oh my, what a warm little place, out of the wind"
"Oh my, what a soft little bed to rest my weary toes"
"Oh my, what a fluffy little pillow to place my sleepy head"
"I must say, I'm thinking this place is just right!"
"Oh my......my domestication may be insight"

And here is a sight from across the pond.  Taken through a spotting scope...not too bad.  Where Dodge Creek comes into McArthur lake, it doesn't always freeze and the bald eagles love to take baths.  there were 5 of them, 3 adults, 2 juvies. Always fun to watch them.
