This little baby bear has the sweetest baby brown eyes! All sweet and sad. Yes, his mom was shot during spring season bear hunt. It's illigal to shoot a sow with cubs, but how could anyone really know for sure! Anyway, this hunter felt bad anough to risk getting in trouble and reported it to the Conservation Officer. They tranquilized the little guy in the tree. I had to drive him down to Hayden Lake and drop him off at a wildlife rehabilitation center. Just soo young, and tiny.
BUT...don't let those baby browns fool you! He rushed at me several times, with his arms above his head, all growls and piss! Just to show me what he was made of. Just because I'm small and scared which makes me looks sweet and sad....don't let that fool you. Don't worry, not even for a moment. Ok, I lie :)
The looks he gave me were just so precious.

Oh man, if that isn't the cutest little thing! Where are the arms-above-the-head, rushing-at-Colleen photos!?!?! I was scrolling down furiously knowing for sure you got pix of that!?!?!?!
I think you should trial him.
OR AT LEAST bring him to the next Patrick clinic!
Oh yeah! I would too! Patrick could train him up! If you stayed at the post you should be safe from the rushing with arms in the air! Keep a couple extra sheep at your knees at all times, a snack to throw if he charges.
Good thing I don't do wildlife rescue, I'd be herding elk with bear. I'd have a Canada goose flying above me for directions down the road. And an otter as a house pet for good measure.
