Willows and wetlands

After the July 4th weekend I took off to Camas Prairie Centennial Marsh by Fairfield for some wetland training. We used several different methods of willow planting, looked at different methods of planting sedges, and spent a morning identifying plants across the marsh. It was freezing....like 50 degrees duing mid-day, which was cold!

See this willow cutting here...aint it a beauty.

You can plant it with an auger....

A water jet stinger... or a regular stinger,

Gotta make sure the soil to stem contact is good so roots will grow.
